Justine Esagunde-Quinlan is a self-taught artist living and working in Melbourne, Australia. Her work explores pop culture, identity & literature. She likes combining analog and digital mediums including painting & digital drawing.

Her work has been exhibited in two galleries:

She ALso was a featured artist in Art Edit Magazine’s 2023 Summer Issue (#38).

Pensilly Studio started off as a creative outlet on Instagram in 2017. It was formally established as a business in 2023. The name is a play on the way Justine described her early water colour work, how the transparency of the medium occasionally shows the graphite sketch underneath, making it pencil-ly.

This happy accident now inspires the style you see now, where the sanguine-coloured pencil has become the most prominent part of her work.
